Monday, January 23, 2012 EDINBORO, Pa.—The Alderson-Broaddus College men’s and women’s track teams competed in the Al Hall Freedom Games Saturday afternoon at Edinboro University’s Mike S. Zafirovski Sports and Recreation Dome. Teams present at the meet were Alfred University, California University (PA), Carnegie-Mellon University, Clarion University, Edinboro University, Fredonia State University, Lock Haven University, Penn State-Behrend, Robert Morris University, Thiel College, and Walsh University. Senior Ashley Teets once again paced the Lady Battlers, finishing just two seconds off the leader to place 3rd in the women’s 1-mile run with a time of 5:18.45. Freshman Ashley Shultz also had a top-10 finish for the A-B women, as she placed 6th in the women’s 3000 meter run with a time of 11:15.37, while sophomore Cassy Menas placed 10th in the women’s 800M with a time of 2:36.90. On the men’s side, sophomore John Mundey paced the Battlers with a 6th place showing in the men’s 800M (2:01.91), and freshman Rickie Hathaway finished 7th in the men’s 60M hurdles (10.30). The men’s and women’s track teams will return to action on Saturday, January 28when they travel to the Kent State (OH) Invitational. |
