PHILIPPI, W.Va. -- The Alderson Broaddus women's tennis team, one of several teams that will begin Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play in 2013, released its fall schedule Wednesday. AB will compete in four events, highlighted by a home match against regional foe Fairmont State.
As a member of the G-MAC, the AB tennis team will play its championship season in the spring beginning in the 2013-14 academic year.
The Battlers open their fall slate at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division II Regionals on Sept. 20-21 at a location to be determined.
"At ITAs, our girls will see their toughest competition, maybe of the whole year," explained second year Head Coach Nathan Harold. "Every player here wants to make Nationals. At a minimum, my hope is that ITAs challenge the girls to play at a high level and that this level of tennis is brought to the courts through the finish of our fall schedule."
AB visits Shepherd on Sept. 27, travels to face Hagerstown Community College on Sept. 28 and wraps the fall campaign versus Fairmont State on Thursday, Oct. 3.
"I'd like to see a good crowd versus Fairmont State," said Harold. "The girls will play their first home match at full strength and would love the support."
