PHILIPPI, W.Va. -- Alderson-Broaddus women's soccer earned its conference-leading seventh West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win Tuesday as they defeated Ohio Valley University 4-0 at the Multi-Sport Performance Stadium.

"It's great to bounce back from a tough loss and get four goals from four different players, three of them sophomores," said Head Coach Patrick McGinnis.

The Battlers (10-4-1, 7-1 WVIAC) dominated the contest offensively and defensively holding the Fighting Scots (2-13, 0-8 WVIAC) to a single shot in the match. A-B outshot OVU 24-1.

Four different players collected goals for the Battlers. Senior Taylor Bryant opened the scoring effort with a goal at 15:26, her fourth of the year. Sophomore Kristi DeChristopher supplied the second score of the first half giving A-B a 2-0 advantage with 23:77 remaining in the first period.

Sophomore Valerie Barlow headed the third goal into the back of the net with an assist from fellow sophomore Olivia Augustine. The goal was Barlow's first of her career and extended the Battler lead to 3-0.

Augustine added the final goal of the contest, an unassisted score, with less than eight minutes left in the match.

Senior goal keeper Kate Laird recorded her conference-leading ninth shut out.

The Battlers face Davis & Elkins College on the road Saturday at noon.
