SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Alderson-Broaddus women’s soccer defeated Shepherd University 2-0 and earned its seventh consecutive win Monday afternoon.

The Battlers (8-3-1) earned their fifth West Virginia Intercollegiate Conference victory behind senior goal keeper Kate Laird’s seventh shutout effort this season.

Senior Sarah Holmes collected her second goal of the year at 25:27 to put A-B on the scoreboard and give the team a 1-0 advantage.

Junior Brooke Hunsaker added to the Battler lead with her first goal of the season with 16:03 remaining in the match.

A-B travels to Charleston, W.Va., Thursday to face the University of Charleston at 3 p.m. ET.
