Saturday, October 06, 2012 JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- A late goal by sophomore Olivia Augustine gave Alderson-Broaddus women's soccer its sixth straight win and a 2-1 victory against the University of Pitt-Johnstown Saturday afternoon. "A good tough conference road win this afternoon," said Head Coach Patrick McGinnis. "We made things a little more difficult than it should have been, but we stayed composed and were able to keep things moving forward." Senior Nicole Lehman scored a quick goal a little more than a minute into the contest to give A-B a 1-0 lead. The goal was Lehman's fifth of the season and Sarah Holmes provided the assist. UPJ managed just one shot in the first period and trailed at the half. An unassisted goal from sophomore Karley Staffen from 10 yards out at 52:58 evened the contest at 1-1. Augustine registered the game-winner at 83:23 with an assist from Lehman. The Battlers travel to Shepherdstown, W.Va., Monday to face Shepherd University at 3 p.m. ET. |
