Battlers Take Part In Gettysburg Invitational

Sunday, October 14, 2012

GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Alderson-Broaddus men's and women's cross country competed in the Gettysburg Invitational Saturday. The women's team finished 18th in the 6k and the men's squad completed the 8k in 23rd place.

"Unfortunately I could not watch my team run, but my seniors took control of the team," said Head Coach Jesse Weiner. "They had seven personal records and I could not expect anything more. The team's dedication really showed today with the whole team working together and running against some great competition. I think we are ready for next week." "Five women and two men recorded personal bests and two male and one female runner were within 10 seconds of their personal records. We also had a very good showing this week. We beat all WVIAC teams by a good magin and we didn't even run our #2 runners for the men and women. This gives us a good boast going into conference."
