PHILIPPI, W.Va. -- Freshman Jenny Brewer nabbed her second first place finish of the season Saturday at the Bethany College Invitational and, in turn, was selected as the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week Tuesday.

“Jenny has been putting in a lot of miles and some really hard workouts the last few months and I'm glad she received Runner of the Week for the WVIAC,” said Head Coach Jesse Weiner.  “She has been a really big part of this team and I am looking forward for her to achieving many more of these awards in the future.” 

The St. Mary’s, W.Va., native earned first place running a 6k in 24:08. Her top ranking helped the Battler women’s team to a third place finish in the event.

Brewer previously earned top honors at the Carl Broughton Invitational in early September.

The Battler cross country teams travel to Gettysburg, Pa., Saturday, Oct. 13, to take part in the Gettysburg Invitational.
