LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Alderson-Broaddus men’s and women’s cross country finished in ninth place at the Lock Haven Invitational Saturday morning.

“We ran against some very good teams and I thought we fared well with such a young squad,” said Head Coach Jesse Weiner. “We have a long way to go, but we will continue to grow and build to try and be the best team we can be.”

The Battler men led by John Mundey placed ninth out of 12 squads in the men’s 8k race. Mundey finished with a time of 27:22.90 and placed 36^th out of the 176-man field. The men’s team finished with a total time of 2:24:57 and averaged 28:59.24.

Freshman Jenny Brewer led the women’s team to ninth out of 12 teams in the 6k event. Brewer ranked 19^th out of 152 runners and finished her race in 23:36.10.

Four Battlers finished within the top 50 in both fields.
