GREENSBURG, Pa. -- Alderson-Broaddus men's and women's cross country placed third and fourth respectively at the Griffin Classic Saturday.

"We ran really strong today and we are only going to get better as the season goes on," said Head Coach Jesse Weiner. "Freshmen Jenny Brewer showed me a lot today and I think she has a lot left in her. As for the men, junior John Mundey ran a great race. John has a lot of talent and we have only just begun to see what he can do."

Junior John Mundy and freshman Jenny Brewer paced the Battlers and finished 13th and ninth in their repective fields. Brewer finished the 5k in 21:02.63 and Mundy ran the 8k in 30:14.66.

Freshman Bryant Weston (30th), junior James Anderson (33rd), freshman Brandin Wharton (36th) and junior Zach Douglas (40th) competed in the men's 8k run. Six programs represented the men's field.

Junior Aly Carpenter (17th), freshman Allison Clevenger (24th), junior Rebekah McBride (25th), freshman Beverly Knight (37th), senior Andrea Sall (46th), senior Kecia Vandergrift (58th) and junior Lindsey Thayer (59th) competed in the women's 5k run. Nine programs represented the women's field.
