ELKINS, W.Va. -- Walsh University defeated the Alderson Broaddus women's basketball team 73-58 Saturday afternoon at the McDonnell Center.

The Battlers (0-2) improved on the previous night's offensive output, but once again tallied double-digit turnovers (16).

Sophomore Sydney Shaffer (Toledo, Ohio) led the blue and gold with eight points and tied for a team-lead with four assists. Rachel Ashley (Teays Valley, W.Va.) collected seven rebounds and seven points in the loss.

Four Walsh players scored 10 or more points in the game. Jalynn Graham compiled 17 points and had eight rebounds. The Cavaliers (2-0) recorded 13 steals and seven blocks. Audrey Badovick and Rachel Trujillo had a combined six steals.

ABU travels to face non-conference rival West Virginia Wesleyan College Tuesday, Nov. 19. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET.
