Philippi, W. VA – The Lady Battlers twice rallied from double digits but didn't have enough as they fell to Pitt-Johnstown 64-55 Saturday evening in WVIAC action.  

Zipporah Tidwell led the way with 16 points on 8 of 12 shooting and Amanda Peoples added a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds.  Erica Brooks chipped in nine and Natalie Smith added six assists for A-B as they dropped to 6-16 Overall and 4-14 in the WVIAC.

UPJ's Sara Trimarco led all scorers with 21 and Kaitlynn Fratz added 18 points as the they improved 12-10 Overall and 10-8 in conference play.

Down 31-19 with 3:50 to play in the opening half the Lady Battlers closed on a 10-3 run to make it 34-29 at the break. 

A-B started the 2nd half as they ended the 1st, scoring the first two buckets of the half to trim the margin down to 1 at 34-33 with 16:47 remaining in the game.

However Pitt-Johnstown would have an answer as they scored the next 10 points over a five minute span to push the lead to 11 at 44-33 with 11:34 to go.

The lead swelled to as many as 13 before a Battler run cut the deficit to 4, 61-57 with 6:57 remainning but couoldn't get any closer as UPJ pulled away late.

Coach Allen's squad returns to action on Monday as they travel to West Liberty State.
