UPJ Handles The Lady Battlers

JOHNSTOWN, Pa.—The Pitt-Johnstown Lady Cats scored the first 14 points of the game, and Alderson-Broaddus could never get back into the game, falling 78-44 in WVIAC action Monday night.

The Lady Battlers (5-7, 3-6 WVIAC) shot just 27 percent from the floor and committed 12 turnovers in the first half in falling behind, while UP-J (5-7, 3-5) shot 53 percent in taking a 40-18 lead into the locker room.

A-B shot better in the second half, behind 16 points from Zipporah Tidwell, but the Lady Battlers committed 11 more turnovers and were outrebounded 24-16 in the half.

Tidwell led A-B with a game-high 22 points but got little help from her teammates, as the no other player scored more than six points for the Lady Battlers. Kelsey Sleighter led UPJ with 16 points, while Nicole Carman and Grace Hyland added 14 and 13, respectively.

A-B will look to get back on track Thursday evening when they host Shepherd University at 5:15 PM.
