PHILIPPI, W.Va. -- Alderson-Broaddus women's volleyball won its ninth straight match as it defeated Ohio Valley University 3-0 (25-9, 25-17, 25-13) Wednesday evening at Rex Pyles Arena.

"We started the match off on a strong note with big points in the first set," said junior libero Jillian Brown. "We were able to pick ourselves up in the third set after letting our enthusiasm slip in the second. Every player was able to contribute in a positive way. Tonight's win was a team win."

Freshman Caitlin Cain led the Battlers (10-12, 5-0 WVIAC) with a team-high 10 kills and recorded four serving aces, and sophomore Kayla Peterson collected 30 assists.

The Fighting Scots (3-20, 1-6 WVIAC) struggled offensively converting just 12 of 60 attack attempts. Sophomore Jessica Simpson paced the OVU offense with three kills and four assists.

A-B returns to action Saturday at Rex Pyles Arena against Wheeling Jesuit and Point Park at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. respectively.
