Goetz Named Sports Information Director

PHILIPPI, W. Va. -- Alderson-Broaddus College today announced the
hiring of Andrew Goetz as Sports Information Director.

Goetz will oversee all sports at A-B and will serve as media liaison
for the athletic department. He will work directly with each athletic
program, provide continuous updates to the athletic website, market
upcoming events, produce media guides and supervise all home athletic
events.

“I am excited to join the A-B family,” said Goetz. “I am honored for
the opportunity Athletic Director Dennis Creehan and President Rick
Creehan have given me. I look to working with the coaches and
student-athletes in taking this program to new heights.”

Goetz joins the Battlers after spending the previous two years at
Morehead State University as the Athletic Media and Marketing
Coordinator. His primary duties at MSU included developing athletic
social media and marketing, acting as sport contact for Eagle baseball
and generating all multimedia content. He was instrumental in the
integration of two Daktronics boards at MSU’s basketball complex and
the redesign of the MSU athletic web page.

Prior to the 2010 academic year, Goetz spent two years in professional
baseball with the Salem Red Sox, Advanced A Affiliate of the Boston
Red Sox. He served as the team's Publications and Marketing
Coordinator from 2009-10. As Publications and Marketing Coordinator he
designed all team publications and marketing materials, drafted press
releases and developed multimedia content.

A native of Elyria, Ohio, Goetz earned a Bachelor of Science in
Education degree in sport management from Bowling Green State
University in 2009.
