Sunday, April 01, 2012 Philippi, W.Va - The A-B Softball started where they left off on Saturday night as they pounded visiting Bluefield State College 11-0 in a run ruled shortening game 1 on Sunday. Adrienne Daniels and Mary Mayer each went 3 for 3 in the game, while Kristy Kellogg and Hannah Whitney each recorded a pair of hits. Daniels drove in six runs led by her 4th inning grand slam. Ali Neace picked up the win on the mound going 4 shutout innings and giving up just one hit. Senior India Stone pitched a perfect 5th inning in relief. The Battlers scored early as they plated four runs in the 1st inning, a single run in the 3rd and 6 in the 4th. The win improves Coach Long's squad to 2-7 in WVIAC play. |
