Philippi, W. VA -- The Alderson-Broaddus Women's Basketball went cold in the 2nd half as they fell to the University of Charleston 67-60 in WVIAC action Saturday night at Rex Pyles Arena.
Deadloacked at 31-31 at the half, the visiting Golden Eagles used a 10-1 spurt over the the opening 4:13 of the second frame to pull away. The Battlers trimmed the lead back to six with 11 to play before the lead ballooned to double digits the rest of the way.
A-B, which shot just 29% from the field were paced by eight points a piece from Cayla Rhodes and Erica Brooks. Zipporah Tidwell, Amanda Peoples and Brittni Shriver each added six points. The Battlers connected on just 6 of 28 three point field goal attempts.
The women will look to rebound this Friday as they travel to Salem, WV to take on Salem International. Tip off is 3pm.
