PHILIPPI, WV. –The Alderson-Broaddus Men's Soccer team dropped their 2011 season opener to California University of PA by the score of 1-0 last night.

 After a scoreless first half, Cal U took a 1-0 lead in the 79th minute on a goal by sophomore Ryan Slaby  with an assist from junior Paul Silvestrone.

The Battlers have now dropped the last four season openers to the Vulcans, by a combined score of 13-4. 

A-B goalkeeper Josh Teets registered two saves in the loss.

The Vulcans finished with a slim 10-8 advantage in shots and both teams attempted three corner kicks.

Men's Soccer will look to rebound on Weds, Sept 7th as they travel to take on NAIA power Rio Grande.
