Wednesday, October 03, 2012 PHILIPPI, W.Va. -- Alderson-Broaddus finalized its 2012-13 schedule, a slate featuring 26 games and 10 home contests. “Our schedule is as tough as always within the league as it continues to get stronger,” said Head Coach Greg Zimmerman. “Our non-conference schedule will also be demanding as three of the four games we will play are against pre-season top 25 teams and are all on the road.” The Battlers open the season in the Shepherd Invitational Nov. 10 and 11 against East Stroudsburg and Bowie State respectively. A-B plays its home opener Tuesday, Nov. 20, versus West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Concord at 7:30 p.m. BSU finished the 2011-12 season with a 22-6 overall record and just missed out on an NCAA Tournament berth. ESU reached the NCAA Tournament last season and was Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Champions. The blue and gold face Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Washington Adventist in the IUP Invitational Nov. 24-25. The Crimson Hawks won the PSAC West last year and finished with a 23-6 mark. The Battlers host conference opponents Seton Hill (Dec. 8), University of Pitt-Johnstown (Jan. 7), Glenville State (Jan. 14), Bluefield State (Jan. 19), Davis & Elkins (Jan. 21), University of Charleston (Jan. 28), Shepherd (Feb. 2), defending conference champions West Liberty (Feb. 9) and West Virginia Wesleyan (Feb. 18). “Our conference schedule is in our favor for the first time in a decade, but with how the offseason went for many teams in the WVIAC, it will be a battle every night,” said Assistant Coach Duncan Williams. “Our goals for the season have never changed. We want to win each game, one game at a time, and by the end of the season have earned a berth into the NCAA Tournament." A-B reached the quarterfinals of the WVIAC Tournament last season and compiled an 18-10 overall record.
